from your response you appear to lend credence to the meme of aliens already amongst us.

How do you know its a meme? You can’t possibly say with any confidence they absolutely cannot exist. If you think you can, then what are your premises? And regardless of that, what pray tell would aliens possibly have to do with YHWH? Lucia, has it occurred to you that aliens and YHWH are not mutually incompatible?

Nasska,

It’s not about “two wrongs making a right”, it’s about a constant ferreting around in the past trying to find evidence of only Catholic institutional abuse. There’s not just Catholic institutional abuse, there’s all sorts, everywhere.

How many kids are sexually abused every year in NZ in Child Youth and Family care? How many have been abused over the decades? Are case workers regularly paraded through the papers as not reporting abuse and/or endangering children? I haven’t seen any.

What about the teacher in my last comment – is he going to be charged with endangering children in his care? Nope. But if he was Catholic and this happened twenty years ago, well then it would be a very different reaction.

Very rarely there’s a story about rampant abuse other areas, and then nothing. It’s like it completely disappears and no one’s interested. But if it’s the Catholic Church, which has only a fraction of the abuse cases, it’s as if all abuse is Catholic. Which means no one actually really interested in rooting it out, it seems.

Add to that Steve Chapman being a Catholic priest, and the school being a Catholic school, and the perps being just a couple of years older and trainee teachers, and then put them in Philadelphia. You bet.

But when it comes to being violated by a screwdriver, scissors and drills, it doesn’t really matter who is doing it – it’s still just as bad.

I can only imagine the outcry from the usual suspects if it was the US doing this:

China has started stockpiling rare earths for strategic reserves, a state-backed newspaper said, in a move which may raise more worries over Beijing’s control of the coveted resources.

China has already started the purchase – using state funds – and storage of rare earths for strategic reserves, the China Securities Journal said, but did not say exactly when the initiative was launched.

The country produces more than 90pc of the world’s rare earths, which are used in hi-tech equipment ranging from iPods to missiles, and it has set production caps and export quotas on them.

What has DPF said about the Bill Liu case?

“The papers clearly state he is entitled to reside indefinitely in NZ in terms of the Immigration Act, so this was NOT an issue about whether or not he might be deported to China. That is a total red herring…It is obvious Shane Jones approved the citizenship because his very good mate Dover Samuels asked him to do so.”

However, the truth is that “officials here and in China were working on having Mr Yan extradited”. So the bullshit that Liu was entitled to reside indefinitely in NZ is just that – bullshit. Liu was almost certainly going to be deported.

Yes it does seem unlikely I agree. However, there are various possibilities.

Who has ever said for example that aliens don’t also bow down to God?

And who has ever said that aliens were only of a single race? If one other race of aliens exists then surely hundreds of others also would probably also exist given the size of the universe. So therefore it’s also possible that some bow down and are benevolent and incredibly spiritual and helpful and kind while others fell from grace eons ago and whom are of a much darker disposition.

It is obvious to me that humans have at least three dimensions to them: physical, spiritual, emotional. I think part of the higher technology is exploring and understanding how those dimensions work in particular with respect to how they interface with our spacetime universe. Because I think we are not physical beings who have a spiritual component rather we are spiritual beings having a physical experience, and we know of course God is a spiritual being also and I also personally think God does not exist in time, as we do. But who knows, of course.

As we explore technology like electrogravitics and torsion fields and biology such as our true purpose and function of DNA, I think we’ll become a lot more enlightened about our true purpose and place within this wonderful universe. If that is, those who rule this world at present, can be defeated and at the moment, we’re not doing a very good job of that, are we. Otherwise, if we continue our present course, it’s all downhill, I fear.

Genesis –
[1:10] God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas.
[1:16] God made the two great lights – the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night – and the stars.

But science evidences that the stars were formed first, eventually Earth, and its surface finally became land and sea. Why in God’s inspired record does the land/sea come before the stars?

I used to believe that as well and it was one of the more difficult beliefs to let go of. Now I believe that we are both physical and spiritual and that death is an unnatural separation, and at the end of time we will be reunited with our bodies again and become whole once more. But those bodies will be resurrected bodies that will be immune to death and disease and will be just awesome.

Anyway, it doesn’t make sense to me that there would be aliens if God made people for this earth as the pinnacle of creation, and then became a human being Himself. Where would that leave other intelligent creatures? Or would they not be like us and more like animals? It just doesn’t make sense.

ross69, I can understand you having trouble with the concept, but deportation is not the same as extradition:

Lucia, we both know that God lets people know what people can handle and that may or may not be the whole story. This doesn’t mean God has lied it means he lets us find things out as and when we need to, either as individuals, or a race, or a species.

I may be wrong but in my recollection nothing I have ever read in the Bible specifically precludes the possibility of non-human races from also being a part of God’s Kingdom. It spends all of its time discussing how humans will be in His Kingdom but it never says, to my knowledge, that His Kingdom only includes human beings.

I’m not saying that is the case. I’m saying the Bible, in my reading, does not preclude that possibility. But I may be wrong, always happy to be corrected, where the Bible is concerned.

LJ,

If you read the Theology of the Body, a philosophical and theological interpretation of the meaning of the human body, you might come to a different conclusion. For instance, God made man, the best in His creation last, and gave him dominion over all the other creatures. But in another version of the story, He makes woman last, implying that woman is the greatest creature He made, the crown of Creation, if you like. We women are a gift from God for man.

Or, look at it another way. He makes man in His own image and man is alone. He doesn’t say, here are some guys from a different planet that you can be friends with who are just like you, only alien, no he makes woman.

Actually, the ultimate aliens are really the angels. Each one it’s own species as they were made individually. Super intelligent, incredibly powerful. They were even tested by God and a third failed.
