Real Me
A useful new upcoming service from NZ Post and DIA. RealMe identity verification.
It will be a four step process:
- Apply online
- Go to a PostShop and get photo taken
- DIA confirms identity
- Complete verification of address with NZ Post
This will then be an online identity that is about as secure as it can be. You’ll then be able to use it to interact with government, local government and private sector businesses.
No details or costs known yet. The cost will be a key factor in uptake. I’d like a more secure form of identification online, but what I currently have with the IRD and my bank works pretty well.
