What nonsense and now poor silly David Carter is backpedalling..The ”not cutting front line staff ” was just another lie was from Key. There has been so many lies now..He makes lying look effortless.

A story of local government borrowing it’s way to oblivion:

Spain’s most indebted village pays the price of its profligacy

In the Spanish country just East of Madrid stands the village of Pioz, popuation 3600, which has the dubious titled of most indebted place in the troubled country writes Fiona Govan.

The new brick houses stand by the dozen, in neat rows which stretch across the sun-drenched hillside. Each has its own walled garden, solar panels on a terracotta tiled roof and space for two cars to park in the driveway.

But a closer look here reveals the banners offering the property deal of a lifetime are fraying at the edges and weeds are encroaching across the patios of houses they surround. There is also a silence in the streets for the simple reason that hardly anyone lives here – all but two of the development of 100 homes stand empty.

And the pool? It is lined with a film of green algae which floats on stagnant water that won’t be cleaned in time for the hottest months – because the council coffers have run dry. This is Pioz, the town in the Guadalajara province of Castilla-La Mancha which has now earned the unwanted distinction of being the most indebted in Spain.

In fact with its projected income, Spain’s Ministry of Public Administration estimates that Pioz will take 7,058 years to repay itsdebts thanks to mismanagement and a vast programme of overspending during the boom years when credit flowed and developers stampeded to put up housing estates they could never realistically hope to fill.

Pioz has become the symbol of a crisis-hit nation where town councils have run up debts that far surpass their income, debts which threaten to derail the government’s attempt to meet strict budget deficit targets set by Brussels.
“We are crippled by debt,” explained Dionisio Torres Martinez, the spokesman of Pioz town hall. “It is impossible to exaggerate how big our problems are here. In the short term we are just struggling to find the funds each month to pay for the very minimum of services, let alone meet our debt repayments.”

Some three miles from the historic centre of this town of 3,800 residents a gleaming water purification plant squats between fields of wheat.
“It looks great doesn’t it?” remarked Juan Yunta Ayllon, the town councillor in charge of Public works, Services and the Environment for Pioz, surveying the site. “And so it should. It came with a bill of 11 million euros and yet do you see anyone there, any sign of life within its gates?”

The place is abandoned because the council has no money left to operate the electricity pumps to supply the plant or to the pay the employees to run it, as a result the water supply to the town frequently cuts out.
A recycling centre next door, funded in part by a grant from the European Union, likewise stands gleaming and vacant. “We couldn’t finish the road to allow the trucks to reach the site with the rubbish. The whole project is useless.”

So too is the swimming pool which was opened in 2008 and came with a price tag of 2.3 million euros. “There is no money, not a spare cent, to spend on maintenance of such a luxury,” explained Mr Yunta.

It is curious to see Barack Obama was called “courageous” by the BBC for Barack Obama coming out in favour of gay marriage. But I don’t recall Dick Cheney being called courageous, or David Cameron or even John Key being called “courageous” when surely the latter three wre standing up to the opponents in their own parties. Never mind the rights and wrongs of gay marriage, don’t we still have double standards from a mainstream media which remains so in love with the blessed ObamaMessia despite his failed economic record, his poor decisionmaking, etc.

“Here’s the problem with the press coverage of Barack Obama: the mainstream media is so overwhelmed by his charisma that they often miss the important details. Every decision, speech, policy statement or impromptu visit to the bathroom is presented as a piece of “history” – the dawn of a new era. The Prez could go seal-clubbing and much of the media would see it as a new epoch for winter sports. “Barack Obama Becomes the First President to Kill Six Seals in Under One Minute,” the New York Times would proudly report, while Twitter would be all abuzz with how hot he looks in snow shoes.

The pattern of missing the wood for the trees has been consistent (it started when Obama wrote a memoir that everybody loved but nobody read) and it continues with his “endorsement” of gay marriage. The talk is all about how incredibly brave he is, not what his support actually means for gays and lesbians or why he waited until this moment to offer it. Conversely, the news that schoolboy Mitt Romney might have once said something nasty to someone who might have been gay has turned him into a rampaging homophobe. Yet again, style has eclipsed substance.

What was the gay marriage endorsement really all about? Ignore the timelines about Joe Biden being a loudmouth and follow the money instead. On Monday, the day before the North Carolina vote, the Hollywood Reporter reported that the marriage question was hurting Obama among west coast donors. “It’s safe to say that the longer Obama waits on the issue, the more frustrated the [movie] community will grow with him. Perhaps it won’t cost him their votes, but it might slow the flow of cash and public rally appearances. That concern doesn’t end with Hollywood … One in six of Obama’s so-called bundlers – people who raise money in great stacks for the president’s campaign – is gay, giving the issue great importance in his fiscal game.”

So on Monday, Obama was losing dollars on the Hollywood fundraising circuit. On Wednesday, he endorsed gay marriage. On Thursday, he flew to Hollywood for a fundraiser, where 150 donors paid $40,000 each to meet the Prez at the home of George Clooney. Coincidence?

Wait, there’s more! Within minutes of the ABC interview that broke the endorsement, the Pres Tweeted “Same-sex couples should be able to get married.” Later, he issued a photo of himself making the statement with the word (you guessed it) “history” flashed everywhere. Within 90 minutes, Obama’s re-election campaign had pulled in $1 million in donations, while it quickly rolled out a new attack ad calling Romney “backwards” on gay rights. The Hollywood Reporter again: “On June 6, the president will be at the SLS hotel in Beverly Hills for an LGBT fundraiser featuring a performance by Pink. (A sellout now is virtually guaranteed.) Obama will be at another LBGT fundraiser Monday in New York, featuring a performance by Ricky Martin.”

That’s what Barack Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage was all about – not history, not equality, but prising open George Clooney’s wallet. Note that Obama still insists that this issue should be decided at a state level and he has refused to sign a “nondiscrimination executive order.” Given the impotence of his endorsement, it really comes down to one man sharing his personal opinion about a moral matter with the rest of nation. And then making a lot of money out of it……”

Got some hard core Obama hating going on there. It is actually courageous, because it is a much more controversial issue in the US than here or the UK. Also, there is the risk of alienating some core supporters. It is clear though, that it is a position worth taking, and defending, at this stage of the presidential campaign.

It is political and oportunistic.

On Sunday, Vice-President Biden comes out in favor of same sex marriage.

On Wednesday, President Obama comes out in favor of same-sex marriage, leaving some to speculate that he was backed into a corner, or that he should have done it sooner, or later, or whatever it is that people complain about when they simply can’t shake the need to be outraged about something, like, all of the time.

Then Thursday, a front-page article drops in The Washington Post about how Romney was a big ol’ gay-hating gay-basher.

Are you kidding me?!
It’s brilliant!

Back when President Obama was a young man, trying to figure out who he was and writing pensive letters to his girlfriend about T.S. Eliot and other philosophical shit, Romney was picking on and assaulting gay people.

Less than 48 hours after the Washington Post published a major, 5,000 word exposé that portrays Mitt Romney as a homophobic, high school bully, the story has started to unravel.
Jason Horowitz’s profile alleged that Romney high school chum Stu White has “long been bothered” by an unconfirmed incident in which Romney supposedly cut the hair of a fellow student. But White wasn’t present at the alleged incident, Romney doesn’t remember it, the alleged victim has been dead for eight years, and White only learned about the incident decades after it supposedly happened.

It would be if he were actually going to do anything about it.

But he’s not, as his talk about “State’s Rights” made clear.

He actually had a timely opportunity to show courageous leadership on this issue with the South Carolina vote to amend the state constitution banning gay marriage, which occurred just days before his announcement. If he had already reached his final “evolved” form on this issue in recent times he could have got out in front of that vote and tried to persuade people in the state not to support the amendment. That’s especially true in the case of the SC African-American community, which appears to have given huge support to the amendment as well as being a locked in vote for Barry.

Actual leadership on this issue would have been going to a few of those famous Black Baptist churches to spread the good word in favour of gay marriage: he’s got the Democrat Party convention in Charlotte in a few months time.

I’d say his “courage” and “evolution” on this issue is perfectly synchronised with US economic news. If the latter was good, Barry would have been content to leave left-wing voters with his nudge, nudge, wink, wink routine of the last few years. But he needs them to be excited. Very, very excited.

To point out how stupid it is for the POTUS to change the meaning of common usage words such as ‘marriage’ –

“The quick brown fag jumped over the lazy poofter.” That’s the sort of trouble we can get into with this ‘gay marriage’ nonsense, leading further towards a more fragmented and tribal society than we now have, as everyone will stay within their own groups so as not to get confused.Which is of course, the exact opposite of what the gay community thinks that they are going to achieve – in being more widely excepted by society.

Barack Obama, may as well have come out and said that he is now a ‘white man’. – it’s just as meaningless as much as it is confusing.

It’s kinda weird when you find out you’ve been the topic of a discussion on a blog you’ve been nowhere near for months. This was pointed out to me yesterday, they seem not to have forgotten me on Dim-Post, ironically on a post called Talkback bait.

I thought all that would have faded into blog history, but seeing as they have raised it – and Rhinocrates decided to gloat about “hounding me” off Dim-post.

So I have told my side of the story with Rhinocrates and Dim-Post set straight.

I was actually standing up to his now admitted campaign to hound me off when suddenly my comments “disappeared” without trace or explanation, Silent censorship in action.

The Dim-Post saga made me think more of another wider issue. If one of New Zealands most popular blogs “disappears” my comments without any explanation – not just once but previously – there’s a possibility it happens to others too.

I think this questions the whole integrity of the comments section at Dim-Post, there’s no way of knowing if other debates there are aided/hindered or otherwise intefered with by silent censorship as was the one I was attacked in.

At least The Standard and Red Alert (usually) are open and clear about efits, deletes and bans. On Dim-Post there is no way of knowing. This leads to Dim-Post mistrust.

What has this comparison to do with the UK? It’s valid to compare US sentiment with relevant sentiment in our own country, but why drag in the UK? Why not Germany, Bolivia or South Sudan?

I don’t much care what the British people – selectively – feel about the opinion of the POTUS on a social / moral issue.

Key & Craig are not in the position to wage a full blown attack on the left and on the left’s past policies which have destabilised family and society, as they want votes from Labour.You should be pleased that they value family, mum, dad & the kids.The left doesn’t.The left values everything as the same, be it marriage, de-factos or single mums which in turn makes it easy for the dads to leave or the mums to kick them out, as Marriage is now no longer seen as a ‘permanent obligation’.’Saving Marriages’ or ‘doing the right thing by your kids’ has never figured in the feminist lexicon or the left’s in general, and the kids -consequently- are just dammed to hell on earth.

I’m glad Key & Craig have ‘dog whistled’ this issue, and you should get used to it too Monique as there is a lot of work to do to make this country a haven of permanent safety where children can thrive.We have no time for the ‘lefty appeasement’ of those who don’t do the ‘right thing’ by their spouses and children. Scientists fear that the area of the ice sheet that sticks out into the Weddell Sea, known as an ice “shelf”, could melt away more quickly than previously supposed.

This could cause the ice sheet itself to fall in to the sea –

– raising sea levels by several metres.

“We believe there’s cause for concern….We believe this region is on the threshold of change,” said Professor Martin Siegert of the University of Edinburgh –

– who led the project in conjuction with the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge.

“This is a significant discovery in a region of Antarctica that at present we know little about.

The area is on the brink of change – but it is impossible to predict what the impact of this change might be..”

I walked down the street in Barcelona , and suddenly discovered a terrible truth – Europe died in Auschwitz … We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.

The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: Science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime, and poverty, due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.

They have blown up our trains and turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.. Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.

And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe .

A lot of Americans have become so insulated from reality that they imagine America can suffer defeat without any inconvenience to themselves.

Recently, the UK debated whether to remove The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it ‘offends’ the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. It is not removed as yet. However, this is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This e-mail is being sent as a memorial chain, in memory of the, 6 million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians, and 1,900 Catholic priests and nuns who were murdered, raped, burned, starved, beaten, experimented on and humiliated.! Now, more than ever, with Iran among others, claiming the Holocaust to be ‘a myth,’ it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

This e-mail is intended to reach 400 million people. Be a link in the memorial chain and help distribute this around the world.

How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center ‘NEVER HAPPENED’ because it offends some Muslim in the United States ?

Full Stops are all over the place now that POAL is working ok. Coming in by the container load. Some fell out of a container and a recent report says a person was seen gathering them with plastic shopping bags and using dogs to carry the full bags away packhorse style. After all they were free.
