The social responsibility clause will no longer apply under the government’s legislation partially privatising state-owned energy companies, and she [Salvation Army welfare services head Major Pam Waugh] said that could be devastating for struggling families.

If it is good enough to transfer the vague, spurious Treaty Clause, why not the social responsibility clause?

Why has Labour not yet explained to the public how the assets sales will work. What will investors have to pay to buy shares and what return can they expect to get.
Labour, the Greens and Winston don’t yet know?
Those are the questions I voted these bastards into Opposition to ask.
Labour were not fit to govern [couldn’t even change their damned doomed Leader when needed – individuals too concerned about the potential position after the lost Election rather than to try to lift the Party before it] so now are they even fit to Oppose?

David Shearer has issued a statement requesting all MPs start setting an example of positive leadership, and has asked all Labour MPs and staffers to set an example of putting the good of the country first, and to stop petty political attacks.

Trevor Mallard, along with batman ‘Eddie’, is on notice to can the crap or can his career.

While it is a complete waste of time trying to point out even the most basic legal principle to you Penny, try this: because the Lombard 4 had reason to believe that the statements were false and the Huljjich 2 had reason to believe that the statements were true. In fact the statements themselves were true. The falsity lay in the omission of facts of which Banks and Brash could not have been aware.

As far as Ambrose is concerned, the police didn’t say careless — you did. The Police said he acted unlawfully. Go read the section to see what that is all about.

Someone pointed this out to me yesterday: The Voluntary Human Extinction Movement.

It thought it was an April Fools joke… but sadly not. Apparently we human are a virus and the sonner we stop reproducing and die out the better.

On a lighter note, but from the same meme, VHEMT recommend Endangered Species Condoms, the idea being that every shag that doesn’t result in more virus-like humans helps nature re-take control the planet. Hmmm, could be a new deal-closing angle for dime 😀

Great comment on the English Premier League. Manchester City only drew with Sunderland, they are now second to Manchester United, with United heavy favourites to win the EPL. City had been leading the EPL for most of the season.

A lot of nonsense is talked about the prospects for shale gas in Britain, both for and against. Advocates claim that there are gigantic reserves just waiting to be tapped, and that the North American phenomenon could easily be replicated here. Opponents — and they are in the vocal majority — say that fracking (hydraulic fracturing)poisons the water supply and causes earthquakes; they also worry that renewing Britain’s search for hydrocarbons will divert investment away from renewables.

All sounds like familiar stuff.

Penny Not-Very – it’s really quite simple. we have a thing in this country called the rule of law. You’re obviously not too interested in it since you were planning to steal the council’s water when you were with the occupy loons, but the rule of law means that when what you did WASN’T AGAINST THE LAW, you don’t get charged just because some insane woman dislikes your politics and wants to persecute and imprison you for your beliefs.
Why did the cops warn Ambrose? Because he’d clearly done something illegal, and the only reason he’s getting off is because the injured party chose not to press charges. DUH.

There was at least 1 successful case on appeal last year to the Auckland High Court for a prison inmate to have access to the internet for litigation he was involved in, admittedly it seems he was representing himself but in the circumstances of Dotcom he would be probably the foremost qualified researcher into information needed for his defence. Personally I think he will or should eventually seek the right to either getting megaupload running again or get it’s affairs with its users sorted out because from what I gather a lot of information belonging to others has been seized – probably unlawfully.

Meanwhile, a man who received claimants’ confidential information intended for ACC for three years says the corporation stopped the stream of information only after he billed them for fax machine toner and paper …
“The faxes were mainly from treatment providers and comprised claims for expenses and cited the names and contact details of the individuals concerned and also details of their treatment,” he said.
He said he did not know why he was receiving the faxes and tried sending them back and alerting ACC.
“Sometimes the faxes could involve up to 40 pages of supporting documents for the claims which would clog up our fax line for ages and use up our toner and paper. Eventually I got so fed up, I decided to invoice ACC for the lost time, paper and toner – an amount of something like $350 plus GST. Only this action got ACC to listen,” he said.
“After much debate and issuing a credit for the invoice, I stopped receiving faxes.” He shredded all the faxes he received.

It doesn’t matter what happens , they always portray themselves as victims.
What about all the CHCh people who were traumatised that day? the young woman who was kidnapped ? the council worker who was stabbed multiple times? the young man who intervened? the children and elderly people who saw the police shooting their compatriot?

You should realise by now David that Phil’s son is his meal ticket. Now before anyone accuses me of attacking Phil because of his child, this is information that Phil himself has volunteered. He refuses to work because he doesn’t want his teenaged son going into any form of day care or after school/school holiday care. It’s as simple as that’ that’s his justification for choosing a lifetime on a benefit.

Phil’s a reasonably capable bloke, even though his spelling and grammar need some remedial work. There is no reason whatsoever why he couldn’t have been working at least part-time for all these years, as tens of thousands of other sole parents do, because they want a better life for themselves and their families.

Cannabis has probably robbed Phil of the ambition to get off his backside and better himself. Instead he has chosen to be caught in the beneficiary trap, because it’s easier to bleat about what you don’t have and hate on those of us who DO have ambition than it is to step outside his comfort zone. If only Phil was like these people:

Whereas Pete at I Suk Up Ltd can make you a productive member of society on Monday…I have just spoken to him…he has a large effluent pond job which needs all the help he can get with…he says you will be well broken in to the rudiments of the trade after that…And then there’s my own tank which is overdue…Pete’s going to do it on Thursday so I will have the pleasure of meeting you face to face…but then I dont think you “do” face to face too well…eh?

Possibly WINZ don’t yet have a flying squad responsible for dealing with such cases on 24/7 standby with sub-60 min resolution times just quite yet, kk.

Which now you come to mention it is another inexplicable failing of our modern world, damn their hides!

As it happens, I see that my good friend Northland Wahine has commented above and is no doubt following this thread….Sorry Phil but Wahine is in a relatively senior position at WINZ..damn….I too believe in using one’s own name on here as you know, but shit (sorry!) it can have some downsides if you are a bludging parasite..

KS, that’s an excuse from Phil. Someone who’s 16 years old doesn’t need to be looked after. He goes go school at ~ 8am, which would be the same time Phil goes to work (if he’s willing to do so), then gets back home at ~ 3-30pm or 4pm, which he definitely knows of how to warm up prepared food (by Phil) in the microwave for himself. Unless Phil wants to be there at home doing it for him. I mean, if a 16 year old relies on his dad to warm up a prepared dish in the microwave for him, then it is beyond belief. See, his son can simply get or find something to eat from the fridge/cupboard when he comes back home from school, then he can watch Simpsons or perhaps play computer games afterwards, until Phil arrives from work at around 5-30pm to cook dinner for themselves. The boy doesn’t need to be supervised from 4pm (when he gets home from school) until 5-30pm.

I believe that Phil is simply unemployable, end of story. But he won’t admit it.

Nostalgia-NZ 11:57 am. I hope he does. If he can hold out until January 21st 2013, he should be OK. I’m assuming an incoming Republican administration of course. Hollywood is a major player in this SOPA thing, and they don’t have a lot of friends on the ‘right’ in US politics. So, I think he will be OK after that.

@ Falufulu Fisi; I disagree. Phil’s child is merely his excuse for not working. He’s perfectly capable, but why work when the state will pay you not to?

And the broadband at the local library has taken a pounding today; Phil has always claimed not to have the internet at home, but the library he uses obviously keeps very generous hours. It could be something for Len Brown to look at, and save some dosh for his train set 🙂

I was hoping to read some constructive comment and support from all those jaffas that have finally jumped up and down about the shocking treaty deals that are being done behind closed doors.

The sight of Finlayson on the teev last night delivering an arrogant response to anyone who dares question his settlements, was truly amazing.
