phool I’m no one’s doormat. I work for a living and spend my own money how I like. I need no help from anyone. The party that gets my vote is the that leaves me alone and doesn’t piss my money away on wastes of oxygen like you.

Philu – I’m sure nearly everyone here detests SCF. In fact it was mostly lefties defending the bumbling, incompetent and selfish old fart who lost all of that money.

Bailing out SCF is a symptom of a leftwing trait – the government takes taxpayer money, and redistributes it the way it seems best.

Labour let SCF have a guarantee. National was foolish to continue this. But legally (because our lefty government guaranteed risky finance companies) we had no choice but to pay up. If it was up to me the SCF investors would have received absolutely nothing – they took a high-risk investment because of the high interest rates, so when it fails they should have to wear it.

And Pete George – there’s nothing wrong with women taking 6 months leave. Good for them. Why not, if they feel it’s important for their child. The point is that it is not fair to expect everyone else to pay for it!

told you phool, I didn’t vote for the party that brought in the guarantee scheme. Maybe you should be asking that question on the sub-Standard? Not sure how you figure on getting your money back as “looting”? Do you reckon the people whose houses fell down in chch were “looting” the EQC? I guess for a lifetime loser like yourself, breaking even looks like unimaginable success.

Anyway I repeat my question for the third time. Who on kiwiblog do you think was an SCF investor and on what basis do you think that? Come on, out with it.

”Police would happily release the footage in question but currently has no authority to do so,” a spokesman said.

”The footage is contained on a hard drive ~~lawfully~~unlawfully seized on a warrant obtained by police at the direction of Crown Law following a ~~properly~~unlawfully formulated mutual legal assistance request from the United States.”

The spokesman said the equipment was part of the wider evidence gathered and police would hand it over once the court gave direction on how the exhibits, in their entirety or individually, were to be managed.

Dotcom’s lawyers were asking for full disclosure from the FBI. Documents are yet to be provided, and it is likely a court hearing will be held to argue what will be released.

When will the dumb people who post this crap put out by the police learn to call them for the liars they are?
The process was not lawful and the warrants were not lawful. All been exposed in court. Nothing more dishonest than a bent cop. We seem to have a few up top.

Police crash chasing 170kmh speeder

A police car smashed into a power pole in north Taranaki last night while pursuing a car that reached speeds in excess of 170 kilometres per hour.

Senior Sergeant Robbie O’Keefe said four police cars were involved in the 70km-long chase which was abandoned at the bottom of Mt Messenger after a police car smashed into a power pole.

“There have been no reports of injuries sustained but there are some power lines down,” Mr O’Keefe said.

Dotcom arrest costs taxpayer $70,000, with more to come

Taxpayers spent about $70,000 on the operation to arrest Kim Dotcom and seize his luxury cars and art.

The cost doesn’t include the cost of police staff, Crown lawyers acting on behalf of the United States or time spent in court.

The January 20 raid set in motion the US Department of Justice case against Dotcom. The United States is trying to extradite Dotcom on charges of criminal copyright violation relating to his file-sharing Megaupload website.

Figures gained under the Official Information Act show police estimated the cost of arresting Dotcom at $11,482. The figure did not include police salaries.
Insurance for the belongings for seven weeks, which include an estimated $6 million in cars, had cost about $6800 even though they have been securely shut away in a warehouse since being seized.

How fucking dishonest is the FBI?

The FBI told Carpathia Hosting it could wipe the servers because snapshots of data from two of the servers was enough to prosecute Dotcom and his colleagues.

Carpathia sought a ruling from the court because keeping the data was costing it money – but deleting it could leave it open to a law suit.

Dotcom said the US government was allowing destruction of evidence to be used by the defence. He said Megaupload had wanted to buy Carpathia Hosting’s servers for $1.4 million but the Department of Justice would not relax the freezing order to allow the money to be used.

The court papers state the FBI didn’t explore the servers to look for evidence “beyond loading up to prove its case” and was now trying to block similar investigations by the defence.

TIME THE NZ GOVT. AND THE POLICE BAILED ON THIS AND GAVE DOTCOM BACK HIS LAWFUL POSSESIONS.
BIG NUMBERS

* $70,000 was spent on the operation to arrest Kim Dotcom and seize his luxury cars and art.
* This didn’t include the cost of police staff, Crown lawyers acting on behalf of the United States or time spent in court.
* Cars and luxury items taken from the home cost another $62,271.
* $25,000 was spent on moving Dotcom’s more expensive belongings.
