The Queensland state election
I imagine we will get results late tonight, but the outcome seems beyond doubt – that the Liberal National Party will form the Government.
The main interest will be in how many seats Labor lose. They have 51 of 89 seats currently, and may struggle to retain even 20 seats. Senior federal Labor MPs have started to appeal to voters not to turn Queensland into a one party state.
Queensland is the only state without an upper house incidentially.
