No conflict of interest
Stuff reports:
The National Library is defending the appointment of a retired electrical engineer as official photographer of the Christchurch earthquakes, and says his appointment had nothing to do with him being the husband of the parliamentary librarian.
This is irrelevant, and shouldn’t even be part of the story. The National Library and Parliamentary Library are totally separate organisations. The National Library is headed by the National Librarian, appointed by the SSC. The Parliamentary Library is part of The Parliamentary Service and the Parliamentary Librarian is appointed by the PS General Manager.
Anyone suggesting a link, is being malicious. It is like saying that someone got a photo job for the Red Cross because their wife works for Save the Children.
I think this is just sour grapes from those who missed out.
