Wiseowl: It will depend on who the PCE takes evidence from…I dont know the woman, but she is clearly no fool…came out in favour of the use of 1080 to the great dissappointment of fools who clearly expected her to fall for any greenie bullshit…There probably isnt such a thing as a fracking expert who is a recognised greenie…at least in NZ…but such a person would be a useful expert witness…in the US there will be a few..

wise owll..the questions about fracking are part of an international trend..

..that has been building for a while..

..i did my first fracking story/link at whoar in june ’10//

..and if it is so harmless..why have so many places banned it..?

..maybe our resident expert-on-everything/walking-wikipedia..garrett..

..will be able to answer that question..?

I’m looking forward to the PCE’s enquiry. I don’t know anything about fracking, so it reminds me a little of the GE commission, which I thought did an excellent job.

Mikey: I dont remembe the result of that…remind me…Ms Wright impressed me on the 1080 thing…I made myself as well informed as I could while I was in there, and came to the conclusion that only nutters opposed it…Wright came to the same conclusion..just expressed it much more diplomatically

The Royal Commission on GE was about 10 years ago. I think it might have been the result of a Labour promise to the Alliance. It disappointed many by recommending a cautious approach but seems to have taken the heat out of the issue.

Nothing wrong with an enquiy about fracking.
Always good to be cautious with things (GE and fracking) that could mess up things big time.
Also nice to be able to hear the facts instead of the propaganda from the ‘greens’ and their groupies.
Not that it will help much to silence them.
They are against it no matter what the outcome of the enquiry.
They don’t like and or care about facts.

Other_Andy: that’s exactly the problem….as I recall when Ms Wright came out on the 1080 issue they first all expressed widespread disbelief, followed fairly quickly by conspiracy theories about “how this could have happened” …which DIDN’T include “Ms Wright looked at all the evidence, applied her brain, and decided you were all clowns” !!
