Hoardings
Paul Gorman at The Press reports:
Damaged election hoardings are some of the first visible signs the country is going to the polls a month from today.
Billboards for National Party and Green Party electorate candidates have been smashed or badly vandalised in parts of Christchurch in the past week.
What a coincidence. Certain parties are not being targeted. I have no idea why.
The story does remind me of a funny conversation I had with a National candidate last week. I asked her if many of her hoardings had been damaged, and she replied that for some reasons her hoardings are just disappearing all-together, rather than being vandalised.
She seemed genuinely bewildered by why this was the case. I couldn’t resist offering a rationale for their disappearances 🙂
