I’m familiar with your argument that implementing carbon reducing measures will have and impact on the world supply of food. I think market forces would come into play, in that, if there was a shortage of corn due to corn being used for alternative fuel, then the price would increase, making the alternative fuels even less economically viable to manufacture.

I do not believe there is a future in grain based alternative fuels, so I think we should give up on that idea.

I’d rather see nuclear power focused on to supply domestic demand in Asia, Europe and the Americas, with battery operated vehicles charged on nuclear powered mains.

In New Zealand, nuclear isn’t politically viable, so we could focus on hydro and hydro-thermal for the main grid, with battery operated vehicles charged off that grid.

Battery technology will continue to improve.

Police camera footage of possible criminal activity is suppressed due to human rights

I have never heard any indication from any media ever since this story broke about them understanding there is a very clear and obvious distinction between “not guilty in law” and “didn’t do anything wrong.”

The media to a T, behave as if this is just a case of complete over the top reaction to nothing at all. This is so fucking mental I’m lost for words.

Momentarily.

Ah, back again. Right, WTF is wrong with these fucking morons that they can’t see that maybe just fucking maybe there was a real and genuine reason for all those serious people in authoriti to become so seriously concerned that they went and did what they did, surveillance-wise, take-down-wise, the whole fucking shebang.

Does the fucking media seriously think that the entire apparatus of authoriti up to and including the PM – Clark – who was involved in this whole thing, was just carried away with fantasy when actually what really happened was that a bunch of people were just havin a few larfs in the bush? That’s what they’re fucking saying, aren’t they. All of them. All the time. Non-stop. No other angle.

The bartender goes into the bathroom to investigate why the drunk is screaming. “What’s all the screaming about in there? You’re scaring the customers!”
“I’m just sitting here on the toilet and every time I try to flush,something comes up and squeezes the hell out of my balls.” With that, the bartender opens the door, looks in and says……….

A guy walks into a bar at the top floor of large skyscraper and asks for a strong one. He drinks up and asks for another one. After quite a lot of drinks he walks over to a table where there are two men sitting, talking and drinking. “I’ll bet you guys 5000 bucks I can jump out that window and land safely on street below!”
The two men look at each other then agree to accept the bet. So the drunk walks to the window and jumps out. The two men can hardly believe their own eyes when they see him land safely on the street and again enter the building. “How’d you do it?!” they ask in amazement when he enters the bar again.
“Well, you see.” the drunk replies. “There is this ventilation shaft straight below this window, and the stream of air is so strong, it slows you down enough to land safely on the grid. Why don’t you try it yourselves?”
So, both the men hurry to the window and jump out, facing certain death as they hit the street at high speed.
At this point, the bartender walks up to the drunk and says: “You know what, Superman? You can be a real bastard when you’re drunk!”

Luc Hansen says, “My car, it was right on the end of my key, and those fuckers stole it! Please ossifer, get my Porsche back. My God, it was right on the end of my key! Where is it? They stole it and it was right here! Right on my key!
“OK, OK, stand up, let’s get some more information,” says the cop. He stands Luk up, and notices his penis is hanging out. “Aw jeez mister, your dick is hanging out, would you put that thing away!”

Be that as it may, the following link presents the latest data on sea level rise. It shows that sea level is still rising, but the rate has slowed recently and this is not unusual in climatology. Most definitely, the assertion that sea level has dropped recently is untrue.

Wrong on quite a few counts Luc. Warriors have just won !!!!!. I sort of feel sorry for you, you know the climate changes all the time but will argue that this is a new thing. Bloody hell man I’ve been a farmer for over most of my life, the bloody climate has been different every year. This year has been particularly hard, I’ve never seen a spring / winter so cold with grass growth so slow. Yes I know it’s climate change. My problem lies not with you, you can believe what you wish. My problem lies with a government that said it would not be world leaders when it came to any carbon tax scheme but will follow the “big” countries. As most on Kiwiblog suspected it’s all being a lie . It’s a con Luc, if you feel the need to carry on with the lie then you pay up I struggle with what the thieving bastards already take off me.

Now, accusations of racism from a Jewhater who peddles the standard anti-Semitic conspiracy theory ( the same theory you can find repeated ad-nauseum at places like Stormfront) that European Jews have no valid connection to their past, to the ancient Hebrews, are laughable enough as it is. But to make the above two statements in the same post is taking hypocrisy to the extreme even for this paticular individual.

As I have said before, people who tell lies about other posters do so because they do not have a rational, fact based argument to make themselves.

I haven’t seen until now your comment that I’ve quoted above. That’s not what I said, and I don’t hold the particular view that you are trying to attribute to me with your customary sleight of hand. No need to feel sorry for me, then.

As is often the case, you simply won’t debate a rebuttal that you find inconvenient – which in this case was that nobody could choose to avoid viewing the opening ceremony for a “content” reason (your way of dismissing their personal view) without knowing in advance some detail about its content.

Instead, you revert to kind, calling people “small-minded bigots” because their opinions are different from yours. Again, that’s very tedious stuff.

I’ve voiced no complaint at all about the Maori content at the opening ceremony (in fact I enjoyed it), but the fact that you think I did is a tribute to MM’s dark skills in twisting people’s words when he’s challenged on his own views.

Further, Grumpy, it wasn’t my idea that people could miss the opening ceremony. Again that was MM’s brainwave. All that’s left now is for you to go back and read – a little bit more carefully this time please – exactly what was said and by whom.
