You put Titiwhai in charge of the country then mock the comparison.

The common thread running though all these people – her, Hone, Sykes – the whole lot of them – is a super-sized chip which drives everything about them.

Personally I feel sorry for them and others like them for by definition, they have chosen to have become driven by hatred. In other words to lead a destructive not constructive life. They disguise their decision to themselves by pretending to themselves that deep inside they are actually driven by simply wanting, like Robin Hood, to correct injustice by taking back legally from the rich and giving it to the poor. This is their disguise to themselves, so they don’t have to face the fact their motivation is driven from sometimes more and sometimes less but nevertheless always naked, hatred.

A bit like when those tea-prty peple posted that pic of Obama with those chimps, then turned around and said ‘Gosh, we just thought it was funny – it certainly wasn’t intended to be offensive.’ Perhaps It’s not because peoples’ sense of humour is lacking that people might not find it funny – it might be because actually, it’s not . . . . funny. In short it’s malicious, and dare I say – dogwhistly…

besides the only resemblance I can see is that they are both wearing shades, the lips are completely different so is the hair, skin-tone and nose and chin. Please gimme a break. It’s racist. Pure and simple.

Have you seen Hone’s latest rant? Was lead story on prime News but One News didn’t mention it at all.
He said Maori in NZ are treated worse than dogs, and that they’re treated better in Australia.

What a load of old cobblers. From what i can see, the Govt bends over backward to give Maori special allowances and funds etc.

300 Maori in Australia want him to go over and have a look, but he’ll only do it if they join his new party.

That guy is a real piece of work.

Because if you are the kind of person that thinks all people who are not white ‘look the same’, then this might have some kind of comedy cachet, simply on the basis that to engage in that level of puerile banter is still ok. Personally I thought it died out in the seventies. . .

But apart from that, when you analyse the photos, and look at the actual shared facial characteristics – there aren’t any – it’s complete bollocks.

Odd. The Twins style humor can be and has been applied to white people. In my most recent issue, I have an article which points out the physical similarity (and implies another) between Hugh Bonneville and Wayne Rooney, both of whom are white.

It’s not about whether or not it’s sinister – the photos simply aren’t funny. If you find this sort of humour funny then you’d probably enjoy Trevor Mallard’s jokes on Red Alert.

Poor DPF. Lookalikes is a print meme (yes, boys and girls, we had memes before you came along with your fandangled i-whatsits and your e-thingummys).

It was featured (as “Separated at birth?”) by the utterly brilliant and much lamented Spy Magazine which mixed investigative reporting and satire. It also ran in Private Eye as “Lookalikes”.

And as DPF says it was all about physical similarities, not politics (though if you could hit similar facial characteristics and personalities types, as this one does, you got bonus points).

Of course it’s since made its way online, but usually without the satirical edge…. though the fact that they’ve found a pic of Lindsay Lohan that makes her look like Kate Middleton could perhaps be seen as a post-modernist satire on the monarchy… or just lame 🙂

Compare that to some of Private Eye’s and you’ll see how it should work.

Here’s one specially for Lucia Maria, Krisk et al 😉

only ones been done for and served prison time for assaulting an individual the other hasn’t been done and served prison time for assaulting a whole nation. Yes there are no physical similarities, but both a complete know it all w**kers and run dictatorships (their way or the highway or in the case of North Korea, death).

I find it funny because it made me think of ‘Team America’ and Titiwhai as an out of control puppet/muppet.

Must admit that I don’t spend a lot of time looking at Red Blurt. I find the tone of many posts simply nauseating as they are based on blind envy.

But I have to agree that Trevor is funny. I laugh most times he opens his mouth. He lurches from baseless accusation to baseless accusation with his gums in overdrive but his brain jammed in neutral.

So in terms of this thread – if you can’t understand it, then simply log out.

I enjoy humour when it’s good, such as season one of Family Guy. This on the other hand was just simply not funny. It was an attempt to be yet failed miserably (although it seems to have done it for you). If this was able to make you laugh then I suggest you watch Beavis and Butthead, which has jokes on the same level. It’s about as stupid as this recent post on Bomber’s blog:

Will Hone get a visa to go to Australia ?

I am not sure he has a conviction, but am inclined towards yes, in which case he may not get a visa even to visit his whanau in Australia.

We will eventually only be left with the “leftovers” in Maoridom who cannot leave.
