(but we’d probably need to pick a main one, you know, so everyone could speak the same language, so-to-speak. But which one… who votes for Muskogean? We could make that one more compulsory than the rest. Not more important – that would be wrong. Just more compulsory)

What is Phil Goff’s position on the Hobbit? Does he support the workers and the NZ economy, or the Australian union? At the Labour Party conference we were told that Goff wouldn’t just stand around when something important needed to be said, but he seems to be missing in action. As are the rest of the Labour Party caucus (‘cept for Mallard, whose contribution is that the issue is complicated). And as are the Greens, and it is their spokesperson who is trying to bring the NZ film industry to its knees for reasons no one can figure out.

But, hang on, didn’t Malcolm want NZ to reduce its carbon emissions by 40%? Maybe this is part of the Green’s plan?

Would it not be worthwhile to investigate a managed increase in immigration?

No – what she said was that they would like to work with employers so that employees could take annual leave to volunteer and maybe the employer could add in some time as well.
It was in response to the EMA raising the issue of posible union action around the time of the RWC – in the words of David Lowe from the EMA “Hobbiting the RWC”
Quite why he chose to make his statement today, yeah really helpful.

If you are concerned about this and don’t know what your rights are etc… please seek the advise of an experienced activist who you TRUST. Maybe we need to have a workshop around this sometime in the next few days so that everyone is confident.

Further to the Juan Williams sacking for stating on air that he was fearful when he saw Muslims on board aircraft, we of course have our own case of a Muslim in New Zealand who hijacked a plane and knifed both of the pilots and a female passenger back in 2008:

Two pilots have been praised for a “miraculous” landing after being injured in an alleged hijacking by a crazed, knife-wielding woman.

The pilot and co-pilot both suffered knife wounds, apparently in confrontations with a 33-year-old Blenheim woman of Somali descent, but managed to bring the Beechcraft 19-seater down at Christchurch Airport.

One of the pilots had surgery on his cut hand in Christchurch Hospital.

A female passenger suffered minor injuries during the Eagle Air flight from Blenheim yesterday while trying to restrain the woman.

After it landed, six passengers were taken to safety while the woman was dragged from the aircraft by waiting members of the armed offenders squad and forced to the ground in scenes described by one witness as reminiscent of a Bruce Willis movie. […]

And while it sounds like she had mental health issues, it doesn’t alter the fact that the first hijacking of an aircraft in New Zealand was carried out by a Muslim. I can almost gaurantee that even in little old New Zealand when people on aircraft see that someone on board is obviously Muslim (or Somali, for that matter, and therefore possibly Muslim) that they feel less safe than otherwise.

Once again, do we really want or need these people in our country?
And should we be afraid to make such statements for fear of losing our job, etc? So much for freedom of speech.

Either that or people profess to be Muslim (especially in majority Muslim nations) out of fear that to not do so means certain death from their fellow Muslims.

Why do we allow Islam either a presence or a voice in Western nations? It claims to be a religion, and therefore claims to have a voice based on “freedom of religion”, but we all know Islam is first and foremost a political/philosophical driven ideology with aims not dissimilar to totalitarian communism/Marxism etc – that being Global supremacy with ALL citizenry fully embracing the ideology and submitting without question. Remember, Islam means “submission”. Of course, all those who will not submit must be eliminated, and made an example of to prevent further dissent.

When is the world going to wake up to exaclty what Islam is? When are they going to realise just how far the followers of Mohammed are prepared to go to bring about a global Islamic caliphate under Sharia law? Exactly how much evidence do they want?!

No doubt, even if a major US city was taken out by Islamists using a nuke OB1 would just pass it of as “extremist factions within Islam and not representative of mainstream Islam” and that “the western world needs to further reduce any offence towards Islam.” And likely with the full support by the UN for such an approach.

According to the author, the news sent Bush “through the roof,” prompting him to order his national security team to give nuclear terrorism priority over every other threat to America.

However, it is worth noting that Bush failed to translate this policy into securing the U.S.-Mexico border.

A top-secret Iranian military installation was struck by a triple blast Tues. Oct. 12 the day before Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Lebanon. debkafile’s military and intelligence sources report the site held most of the Shehab-3 medium-range missile launchers Iran had stocked for striking US forces in Iraq and Israel in the event of war – some set to deliver triple warheads (tri-conic nosecones).

The 18 soldiers officially reported killed in the blasts and 14 injured belonged to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) main missile arm, the Al-Hadid Brigades.
The Imam Ali Base where the explosion occurred is situated in lofty Zagros mountain country near the town of Khorramabad in the western Iranian province of Lorestan. This site was selected for an altitude which eases precise targeting and the difficulty of reaching it for air or ground attack. It lies 400 kilometers from Baghdad and primary American bases in central Iraq and 1,250 kilometers from Tel Aviv and central Israel. Both are well within the Shehab-3 missile’s 1,800-2,500-kilometer operational range.

Our Iranian sources report that Tehran spent hundreds of millions to build one of the largest subterranean missile launching facilities of its kind in the Middle East or Europe. Burrowed under the Imam Ali Base is a whole network of wide tunnels deep underground. Somehow, a mysterious hand rigged three blasts in quick succession deep inside those tunnels, destroying a large number of launchers and causing enough damage to render the facility unfit for use.
In its official statement on the incident, Tehran denied it was the result of “a terrorist attack” and claimed the explosion “was caused by a nearby fire that spread to the munitions storage area of the base.” In the same way, the regime went to great lengths to cover up the ravages wrought to their nuclear and military control systems by the Stuxnet virus – which is still at work.
In actual fact, debkafile’s military sources report, Iran’s missile arsenal and the Revolutionary Guards have also suffered a devastating blow. Worst of all, all their experts are a loss to account for the assailants’ ability to penetrate one of Iran’s most closely guarded bases and reach deep underground to blow up the missile launchers.

The number of casualties is believed to be greater than the figure given out by Tehran.

The soldiers’ funerals took place Thursday, Oct. 14, at the same time as Ahmadinejad declared in South Lebanon that Israel was destined to “disappear.” A few hours later, he ended his contentious two-day visit to Lebanon.

This week, Aviation Week discovered that the new intermediate-range BM-25 Musudan ballistic missile exhibited at the North Korean military parade Sunday Oct. 10 – at which Kim Jong-II also paraded his son and heir – bore a strong resemblance to the Iranian Shehab-3.

It is therefore possible that the explosions at the IRGC base in Lorestan Tuesday also sabotaged secret models of Iran’s latest road-mobile, liquid-fuel version of the Shehab-3 ballistic missile.

The Yanks and/or Israelis are really fuckin with Iran at the moment. I think the stuxnet worm is the coolest thing ever.

The yanks have moved a second carrier group into the gulf too.

I support nukes for Iran, and furthermore I think that Ahmadinejad is a genuine guy, a pious man, a good guy.

In fact I would trust Ahmadinejad much more than Bush or Obama.

If I was heading Al Qaida, and I had 40 nukes at my disposal, but only had one or two presently in the US, I would probably wait until I had all 40 strategically situated across 40 key US cities. This may take some years to achieve. Why just nuke one city when you could destroy 40 with a little patience? That’s what I’d do.
