Ganley standing for Council

Marcus Ganley is Phil Goff’s policy director. The Dom Post reports today that he is also standing for election in the Lambton Ward for Wellington City Council.

Lambton Ward is normally heavily contested, so no predictions yet from me as to who is likely to win through. STV makes it a bit harder to predict also.

What I did find interesting is that Ganley, if elected, will carry on as director of policy as a part-time staffer. I would have thought the role (especially in election year) was one needing full-time attention.
