I see where 6 teachers at an Auckland school have been caught with inappropriate material on their SCHOOL!!! computer. How in gods or any one else’s name do scum like these get to hold a job where they are so closely involved with our vulnerable and impressionable young. I guess their union supports them. I accept that some would defend them if this was on their home machine BUT THE SCHOOL ONE.

Who else is appalled at the fuss over some Kiwi soldiers writing a message to the Taleban on a bomb? I mean, we are at war with those guys – do you think that they Taleban might get offended that a bomb has a message on it in the millisecond before it vaporises them?. Fuck – I would make sure that all ammunition used in Afghanistan was washed in pigs blood, and let the enemy know it.

The Defence HQ coming out and saying it is “inappropriate” is just insane. How about all those messages to Hitler and Tojo written on bombs in WWII? PC bullshit of the highest order.

Stuff has a long piece on gang patches. It looks like a mixture of fact, fiction and myth (and I certainly don’t know which is which), but it ends with:

Patches are not worn as much as they used to be, according to the experts. As the gangs increasingly get into drug dealing and organised crime, they want to lower their profile so they don’t attract the attention of the police. That means dressing like everyone else.

Teachers with questionable material on their laptops: doesn’t really matter what it is or where it came from, the very fact that it is there indicates a lack of judgement that doesn’t fill one with confidence when it comes to the other aspects of the job.

New topic for a minute if I may…

Am I being hypercritical in thinking the NZ Hooerald tip toes on ethnic issues?

Of a couple of apparent scamsters (link below) it uses the term “Chinese-born Kiwis”. In pre-PC days this would have been “naturalised NZ citizens”? Or “Chinese immigrants with NZ citizenship”.

If multiculturalism is as good as the Hooerald would like us to believe, what is wrong with being more confident in describing ethnicity of immigrants?

I note that in reports from America, nonpareil in welcoming and absorbing ethnicities, people of foreign birth are typically described as naturalised American citizens. Is this too daring for us?

Lower in the story it is apparent that Niue had plans to sell NZ citizenship. As part of New Zealand, Niue citizens have open entry to NZ. Niue had plans to offer residency to Chinese at $200,000 a pop.

One Ralph Zhu, a naturalised NZ citizen in all probability, seems to have been part of the company linked to the action.

This country is being sold out, left, right, and centre. Time I think, folk, for a new right wing party in NZ. And no, Winston Peters doesn’t qualify.

More media crap… this time for the Sunday Star Times on gang patches (link below).The article is actually quite interesting and shows what low IQ trash make up the gangs.

However, the newspaper describes the patches as badges of honour, and prisons expert Greg Newbold calls them sacred symbols rather like a nation’s flag.

Should a mainstream newspaper, especially the one with perhaps the country’s largest circulation, lend any credence to these scumbags by using such metaphors to describe their clothing? I think it’s like describing the swastika as a badge of honour or Pol Pot’s black uniforms as being sacred.

The deaths of those ninety people is the responsibility of the Taleban. They hijacaked the fuel trucks, it was in an area under their control. Fuck, civillians die in war. Sad but true. You would think that after 30 years of war in that country people would know not to gather in large numbers around groups of Taleban.

Good call. I am actually disgusted with the Greens actions once again.

Once again, they show no respect for those who defend our shores and use something for purely political purposes.

I wish we could sit down with Keith L and just tell him (so he actually gets it) what it is like in the military. We train these people for conflict which is aggressive by nature. Then he asks those same people to contain that aggression when it suits the green party – yet remain “professional” enough to do their jobs.

What a complete wanker!

I feel bad about calling them that and on these forums I try to refrain from language like that. But there is nothing else for it except these people are wankers! I know of no better description. DPF, this subject must be worth a post. For no other reason than the pure lack of empathy with the people that the Green party purport to want to represent. New Zealanders.

I just think that the Green Party are one big irony.
One one hand, they support civil liberties when it is trendy and suits them, such as the Zaoui case.
One the other hand, they support outrageous intrusions into the private life of citizens through the anti-smacking bill and the powers it gives CYFS and the police.
Any Green government would also have the “rich pricks” having upwards of 50% of their income taken from them in taxes, a sure sign you are living in a free country full of civil liberties.

Then we have their pacifist stance, again cynical and only for the “trendy” causes, of course attacking greedy capitalism in the form of America gathers far more young naive supporters than condemning the murderous fascist regimes a free country would oppose.

Say what you like about George Bush (and I am not a fan) but not enough NZers sleep soundly knowing that America is the free world’s main defense against religious facism
