Blinglish is in trouble. He must have received a pecuniary advantage from the decision to rent his trust property.

Allowing one’s spouse or children to benefit from a decision is to gain a pecuniary advantage. A financial gain by a spouse during a relationship has to be shared equally, and the increase of wealth of a trust by the addition of relationship property also results in a legal expectation that the addition is shared equally.

Bill would appear to be caught. He should disclose all trust documents and then if in breach pay the money back and face the opprobrium of the public.

In SST Michael Laws draws an interesting comparison between the porn show and the fashion show held over the last week. There’s nothing wrong with sex and erotica, there’s nothing wrong with fashion and nice clothes. But both of these events are extreme presentations, both have aspects of being freak shows. Oversized boobs and oversized baubles. Oversized tops and over the top. One represented as sleaze, the other as glamour, but what’s the difference? Both exploiting and demeaning femininity, just to make money.

Little Chicken, for once I happen to agree with Mickey. He is correct and no amount of bullshit and bluster will change that.
Blenglish is a rorter along with the best of them. Worse after 9 (yep thats right nine long years in opposition as a finance spokesman) he gets elected and has no idea at all what to do, just carry on as you were chaps and I take away your tax cuts and I will continue to spend as before plus some more.)
And before DPF lamblasts me for pointing out the need to reduce spending I see he has finally come to the same conclusion in his latest blog from St Johnysburg. Only about 12 months late but I suppose “better late than never”.

That’s a thumbs up for DPF.

Viking – I think Pete is commenting on the image the two events are given in the media, rather than making any sort of moral judgement. You may have misinterpreted his comment. Personally, I thought that seeing Chelsea Charm’s Unfeasibly Large Breasts must have been similar to the experience people had in the old days when they went to the freak shows.

Often there’s nothing wrong with it. But it depends on how it is done. There are freak show aspects of both these events, depicting the abnormal to try and attract attention, and money. I disliked the bullshit boulders as much as I dislike the straightline strut. Doesn’t mean I disagree with businesses selling dresses and vibrators.

Where is old misery guts PhilU when you want him?. I see he was working himself into a lather last night, It’s just marvelous how us farmers can work him up so. So the great Melon lover is now pushing artificial meat, boy these Melons are a strange breed. I wonder if it has occured to him where the raw ingredients will have to come from to make artificial meat and or milk and how much this will cost in energy usage. Dream on Melon head, my beloved cows will be around long after you are pushing up daisies.

Oh and while you are here, when is Sue’s farewell piss up on. That will be the social event of the year for you Melons, won’t it? Better spruce up the old bong, give it a treat and put some new water in it, it’ll be running red hot.

Also notice that Waikato University students are so enraptured with all the services their Compulsory Student Union provides that they can’t even be bothered running for election for SALARIED positions! One Position for President (salaried), and one candidate. One position available for Vice-President (salaried), and one candidate. One position for Maori Vice-President (salaried) available and..yup you got it…only one candidate running. Eight positions for Director available and nine people running (sucks to be the one person who misses out).

Waikato is often cited as a great success for the compulsion movement in that they chose to convert from voluntary to compulsory by ballot so that they could return to provide awesome services. Well, the services are so awesome, & integral, that almost nobody can be bothered running them, not even for money…

Every day I read in the newspaper of what John Key is up to on this hols in New York.

John Boy, come home and do some bloody work. Here’s your to-do list:

– Sort out welfare dependency.
– Reduce govt spending and give us tax cuts.
– Fire Working For Families.
– Employ Act’s Three-Strikes-You’re-Out law so NZer don’t have to live in a country blighted by 100+ conviction crimes.
– Decommission the Families Commission. Don’t even think about. Just do it. No one will notice after a week.

No more hobnobbing in New York, pretending you lead a 1st world country until you do the hard work to set NZ on the path to become one.

There are some interesting reactions to Bradford leaving the greens, some members seem to be throwing away their support for the party in protest while others are welcoming it as an opportunity to move towards the centre.
I think Bradford has caught them by surprise (perhaps even a little selfishly?) and there seems to be some genuine confusion.
It will be interesting to see what will develop from this once the dust settles, but I think it will be looked back on as a significant direction change for the party one way or another.
I guess if they don’t move towards the centre Bradfords resignation can only be a massive blow for the status quo.
If the greens can actually come up with some common sense sustainability policy and push this ahead of the more radical social justice issues, they could well gain a bit more support.

Well it doesnt suprise me, they wouldnt be very impressed about patrolling in urban areas with all those dodgy muslems everywhere, im sure they are even less impressed about doing it for a country that thinks helen clark is our most honorable living icon. Not surprising that Green support is dropping. But statements like…

…are pathetic. A poll two years before an election is simply that. We are not having a snap election, and if we were there’s a good chance people would think differently about how they vote. Why can’t they just report the poll results and skip the “if a situation almost certain not to happen did then it might make some sort of newsworthy comment”.

“it just seems like a lot of money” no wish to offend you Whalehunter but it is. I was always taught to do the maths and quite frankly the sums don’t add up. My fear is that the dues will be called in one day and you can bet that we will be slaves in our own country, if we are not all ready. I believe we have gone past the tipping point and now like many other countries live off the savings, sorry the whims of an organisation that will put the cards on the table within a couple of years. I’m sorry if I’m starting to sound depressing but you know yourself that it is not possible for a country of four million to borrow 400 million a week and call ourselves a sovereign country that makes and sets it’s own rules.

Philu, we do grow our own meat. For God sakes man I have no problem if you want to eat Verge’s all your life, I have a sister that is afflicted with the same disease and she grew up on the farm. I know they can make artificial milk but it seems it is shit and uses three times the energy as a poor old cow. And besides where do you think they got the grass to stick in the machine, from the FARM. So us rich prick land barons will still be the arseholes you like us to be.
