So TV One carried the shittiest news item yesterday on their 6pm bulletin about how the National Party was taking away all these stupid green measures. Those measures being a carbon free public service etc etc. Now as we know the majority of Green voters are inner city upper income people living off the taxpayer. I’m sure their total greenhouse gases emissions that each of them use each year is way more than any ordinary citizen since I’m sure they are flying all over the place overseas and likely buying products that are using up so many air miles. Now I don’t have a problem with flying or buying food products from Europe. But don’t vote the Green party and expect us to pay for your greenhouse emissions when its you lot that use up most of it.

The left has been trying to portray Key as evil since before he became the leader. They didn’t believe it then, they didn’t believe it during the election when Labour said, “Don’t trust Key”, and they certainly don’t believe it now. Of course you lot would accuse National and the media of a big PR machinery and that somehow New Zealanders are buying into that PR machine. I really hope the left keeps thinking that way because the way things are going. Key looks forward to a long time being Prime Minister.

Of course not gingercrush! I know that Key is an environmentalist at heart (just as the dairy farmers all claim to be) because he has proposed a big bicycle track. The destruction of green.. oops, I mean ‘ taking away all these stupid green measures’ is all part and parcel of his environmental stewardship, probably as advised by the entirely trustworthy and conscientious Nick Smith and the highly energetic and competent Gerry Brownlee. While it appears that the National Party (let’s attribute it to Key shall we, he gets the kudos for all the good stuff) is systematically destroying each and every green initiative, that’s just bias from the ridiculous media and spin by those spiteful lefties, isn’t it ginge. I have every confidence that Key (I like to think of him as ‘Sir John Key’, just as I picture ‘Sir William English’ as I doff my hat in my mind’s eye) will protect the environment from those nasty Act types and their medieval thinking as well, such is his largesse! Happy days!

You ask greenfly why “the left persist that Key is some of evil no-doer out to harm New Zealand.” The answer is that they do this for the very same reason that the right persist that Clark is some sort of evil no-doer who was out to do the same. I’m not saying I agree with either, what I’m getting at is that most on here lean so far left or so far right that they are unable to see bad in anything “their team” does wrong or anything good in anything the other side does. A little more understanding of the issues and awareness of reality would make many of these posts far more digestible.

As touched on in yesterday’s general debate, the left-led anti-bullying campaign in schools is now in full cry.
Children’s Commissioner Cindy Kiro and Chief Human Rights Commissioner Rosslyn Noonan were giving the state-control spin on the topic this morning (on state-owned national radio of course).With them was the spokesman for a group of Hutt Valley parents concerned about bullying incidents there.

It was all “State this…State that” and “rights … rights”.

Kiro seemed to suggest that every bullying incident should be reported to the police. Imagine a five-year-old being carted off in a police car and interrogated. The school group spokesman also finally descended into calls for state control and state responsibilities. “State” was flowing off his tongue when he gave his summary.

Bullying has been a problem through history, but here we have Leftist, state-control freaks seizing on the issue to demand more intrusion by the state into our lives and institutions.

The Human Rights Commission and the Children’s Commission are bureaucracies that waste taxpayer money and implement the ideology of the Left.

The only great thing is that Labour and the Greens who would have used this campaign to further extend the role of the state are now toothless. Noonan and Kiro, like “Boris” de Bres (Race Relations Commissioner) are political and bureaucratic dinosaurs.

It’s up to parents and schools to sort out bullying. Ultimately it’s about discipline.

And you have to question whether it is worse now or just a convenient drum for the defeated Left to beat.

I note Herald running story that Robin Hood was in fact a bit of a rat bag and not an early social worker and philanthropist. Is this just just a tacky response to the SST story? Will we see some evenhandedness from the crim Archer or SST??

I completely agree. However socialists like Labour/Greens/Noonan/Kiro etc are all about the state being the only and ultimate authority structure.

Their ideology calls for respect for parental authority to be broken, and for the use schools as an instrument of state to indoctrinate and control young lives.

The damage done to the fabric of NZ society is almost incalculable: A bourgeoning underclass of social degenerates whose ghastly behaviour has good law abiding citizens crying out for increasing state control in order to provide ‘protection’.

This may sound like too harsher assessment when looking back to last year, or the year before. But when you consider the societal breakdown over 30 years of creeping socialism it starts to make sense.

Jack5 – the definition of bullying is what irks me. It is pretty much anything that makes someone feel uncomfortable. Two kids have a pushign match – it is bullying. Some kid says fuck off fatty to another, it is bullying. I think the definition of bullying should be limited to systematic long term victimisation – verbal and physical. The other stuff is mostly kids being kids.

I believe changing age structures of students require a change to the way we organise our secondary education.

When I was in the seventh form there were only seven of us and all of us were working hard in an attempt to go to University. The school roll was over 1000 students so we were a tiny minority.

Now large numbers of young men and women attend secondary school and many have no interest in education but simply in the minimum security wing of the incarceration system.
These young adults should no more share an institution with genuine children than children should share jail with adults.

So my view is that bullying and other problems would be relieved if secondary school stopped at say age fifteen and young adults should go to junior college where they can be treated as adults and the children back in secondary school can be treated like children.

There is plenty evidence, but none that you’d give any credit to.

History shows us that socialism fails miserably. The end of the Soviet Union was the result of an ideology collapsing under the weight of human suffering that it created.

If that sounds too heavy and the result of my blinkered world view then you could lighten things up and watch the Top Gear episode on the quality of Soviet-era cars. It’s hilarious what can’t be achieved when the state assumes the moral right to think and act on behalf of its citizens

He’s analysed the situation and has some sound reasons that he thinks John Key will be thrown out at the next election.

I mean, Somebody could offer him a bet of say, $1000, on the result in 2011.

Which of course, if he didn’t accept, it would mean he would have to admit that he doesn’t believe what he is saying, and agree to stop saying it for the next three years.

Jack5………….I went to school in a different age…No boy would hit a girl. You never hit anyone smaller than yourself. In a fight you only used your fists and never hit below the belt. A fight was always one on one. Most boys carried a pocket knife, and every boy scout wore a sheaf knife to meetings. No-one was ever stabbed or threatened. At school any breach of what we all knew was inherently right was punished by cane or strap from the ultimate authority the Schoolteacher, and outside school by the nearest adult…Still I guess things have progressed since then.

Has it not occurred to you that “rotting” is exactly what happens to people who refuse to get off their arses and do anything. If you decide to stop eating, you starve. If you don’t wipe your arse, you smell. If you stand out in the rain, you get wet. Is some form of state intervention required to protect people from these choices?

You just aren’t prepard to help yourself are you Phil? Do you think that pissing around all day trolling for the latest conspiracy or traffic for your site by using someone else’s blog is somehow a legitimate activity deserving of state (read taxpayer support)? Do you think because you might have convinced yourself that what you do is important, or that it is an acceptable quid pro quo to being on the bludge, that eveyone that pays for you ought to feel the same? Maybe the rest of us will just lob off to the Coromandel to make macrame socks and ugly pots and then demand that taxpayers fund that as a lifestyle choice. Whoops, too late; that lark has already been taken.

Here’s a thought Phil. Think about the parents that choose to take responsibility and pass each other in the doorways each morning and evening as they go off to their jobs; one on day shift and one on night shift. Nice life. Do you put yourself in the same category in terms of deserving support Phil? Why do you laugh and snear at the people that pay your bills Phil? Does the world just owe you a living Phil?

Why don’t you put the same effort into employment as you do into blogging and clearly did in relation to your now defunct re-branding campaign (” aka … the lone thingy at the end of … whatever..”. That was pretty telling Phil. You really do try and justify your existence through this carry on don’t you Phil? That way you don’t have to make excuses for not wanting to work do you Phil?. Do you really think its a valid contribution to the world Phil? It isn’t. Its just a diversion and a bit of fun; only in your case its a diversion from YOUR reality that YOU choose.

They just laugh at family conferences etc they regard the teachers social workers and the Police as a bunch of big blouses

They have utter contempt for them all

And so they should I dont blame them Talk about a bunch of soft cocks. Twittering on about their RIGHTS and how they are socially deprived..

What the thugs need to be told the rules the parameters and the punishment if they break the rules.

And if they do then the punishment must be real and effective.

NOT a wet bus ticket as it is now.

What is missing from the news releases is the list of punishments inflicted on the agressors in those instances.
Like, what were the grammes per square metre, of the wet bus tickets that they were slapped with.

Yes, Tauhei Notts, some of the injuries inflicted on battered and murdered babies are horrific; but that is no reason to criminalise smacking. You are quite right that the punishment of the REAL bullies in schools needs to be commensurate with their actions, but normal robust teen behaviour should not be the focus of police state style inquisitions, just like normal parental disciplinary methods should not be.

So what about the new petrol tax – and specifically TVone’s flimsy reporting of it as the rest of the country paying for Auckland’s roads. I took the announcement to mean that there would be infrastructure built across the country and not Auckland only. Also I am glad that petrol tax will not pay for public transport – if it can’t support itself it shouldn’t be up to people who explicitly don’t use it to pay for it.

John Key disappoints me in so many ways, he is almost the perfect National PM but he has that fucking annoying leftish bent that keeps rearing its ugly head every once in a while.

This morning on Breakfast TV he urged employers to make up the difference in what workers will lose from the nine day fortnight, FFS!, the workers should be grateful they still have a fucking job, forget about wanting the employers to make up the difference I want to see the workers out doing community work on that tenth day for the money I and every other tax payer will be giving them.

The same goes for the lunacy that is the electrification of the Auckland rail network, this is nothing but a sop to the climate change wankers and Greens, it is NOT needed nor is it wanted, there is simply never going to be enough people who want to experience the “joys” of a hot, muggy, smelly, jam packed rail car when they can travel in privacy and comfort by motor car.

So Mr Key, please remember what the party you are leading stands for, please tell the workers who I and every other tax payer are keeping in a job that they should STFU about the money they are losing, and tell the Auck’s that if they want electrification of the rail network then they can have it on a user pays basis.

TV3 had Joyce and Key on the waiving of the regional fuel tax. Joyce looked like a grinning idiot 🙂 Key looked quite lame. It’s a very bad idea anyway, waiving the tax, and anyone outside Auckland thinks it stinks.

This years Kiwi entrant for the 2009 Darwin awards is……..Stevie James Ormond

A 16-year-old youth found dead in Ngaruwahia bled to death after cutting his arm punching a window, police say.

A post-mortem carried out on the young man – who police have named as Stevie James Ormond – was completed in Hamilton today.

Detective Sergeant Mata John said Mr Ormond’s death had now been referred to the coroner.

It was thought Mr Ormond’s injuries had occurred after he punched a glass window at the Fire Station, he said.

“While not pre-empting the outcome of the Coronial investigation, the post-mortem completed this morning revealed the 16-year-old died as a result of severe blood loss resulting from a cut to the Brachial Artery of his right arm, just below the Bicep.”

Mr John said following an examination of where Mr Ormond’s body was found and damage to a window at a nearby fire station police did not believe his death was suspicious.

Coroner Gordon Matenga has opened an inquiry into the circumstances of Mr Ormond’s death.

Police were earlier examining two scenes – one where the body was found and the other where the window was smashed.

A stretch of Herschel St was cordoned off yesterday between Kepler and Newton streets, and a blue marquee was placed over the boy’s body, which lay on a parking bay outside the headquarters of Mahons Amusements.

Blood could be seen near the fire station, leading to where the boy’s body lay.

Small groups of people gathered at both ends of the cordon throughout the day, while scene investigators went about their work.

Herschel St resident Everard Thomsen said police had gone door-to-door trying to piece together information.

“We don’t know too much about what’s happened, but it’s not a nice thing to happen in your neighbourhood. Not nice at all.”

Hi All

I need help, an idea or a business looking to export. I am a mature student – working, studying and 3 children (4 if you include my husband).

I am completing International Business paper this semester; we are required to complete an International Business Proposal for a product or service for export to any country other than Australia. This proposal will be between 7,000 and 9,000 words and covers all key areas concerning exporting to another country. We are allowed to approach business, family or anyone we can think of to offer this service to or we can think an idea up ourselves.

I need to find the product or service and a possible country. I will then be able to start from that information. The deadlines for the assignment are 7 April for modules 1 to 6, 19 May for modules 7 to 11.

In the report I will cover the following Modules. There are 11 modules we are required to cover –

MODULE 1 – The Product or Service

MODULE 2 – Competitor Analysis

MODULE 3 – Target Market Country Analysis

MODULE 4 – Target Market Culture and Business

MODULE 5 – Market Entry Strategy

MODULE 6 – Organisational Structure

MODULE 7 – Finance

MODULE 8 – Human Resource Management

MODULE 9 – Product Development and Production

MODULE 10 – International Marketing Strategy

MODULE 11 – Measuring Success
