I see that poodle Dunne has waded into the debate about Nationals social welfare policy.

He would be the most annoying and sanctimonious wanker (Winston aside) in the house.

The only thing I want to hear from this prick is when he is going to pay back the money he stole from me.

Inventory2, that’s interesting, given that the way the music industry has been working for the last couple of decades, it is looks and attitude and non-musical factors that make a “star”, not musical ability at all……..

The Greens are starting their overseas campaign…

Dam these ex-pats that live in the UK that think “yea i wanna keep NZ green so ill vote greens”

then they come home and realised they will be taxed out of existance!

anyway, my question…

this electorial finance act thing – will they bust ya if you live in new zealand but spend a bunch of money advertising overseas? or a bunch of money attacking labour and the greens??

like, can dime take out a full page ad in a UK newspaper saying

“dont vote greens in new zealand! you will be voting for a ginger with a lisp”?

hell, isnt he an australian ginger with a lisp?

Spells, magical curses and voodoo dolls are all part of a new paper being offered at Massey University. Magic and Witchcraft, is a 100-level extramural paper offered this semester at the university’s school of history, philosophy and classics.

Oh, there you go – Maharey’s already setting up jobs for the female members of the Labour Cabinet (plus Sue Moronic and Jill Petty)

What is it with the Greens?

How can a party with so little of the vote have such an influence in our lives.

Our electoral system in it’s present form is a crock of ‘dog do’.

I think the discussion John Key is starting to initiate on the future of voting variables needs much more emphasis.

I suggest ‘research’ might be in order dime – although it’s more ‘philosophy’ than ‘policy’ in this pre-election period that we’re in.

Dock, I think you’ll find that the Greens’ influence has been proportionate to their MP numbers. Funnily enough, Labour is the one with most influence on our lives!

I may be thick, but with the Greens, what part of the anti-smaking bill result against the wishes of almost the entire voting population of this country reflects the influence of their vote of the last election.

The reason the “anti-smacking” bill became law was because Labour voted for it. Come to think of it, so did National in the end, so how come the Greens get 100% of the blame?
Stephen is right, the Greens’ influence has really been only proportionate to their MP numbers – possibly less.

What s.russell said. “the influence of their vote of the last election” meant they got a small handful of legislation and amendments through, as one would expect from a party with at least a ‘confidence and supply’ agreement. The smacking thing was one amendment, just with a lot of potential to affect people. Sue Bradford basically makes every other MP look pretty human too, so that probably helped – she’s a machine!

Quickly went through the Grrens web site looking at their policies. I like their Treaty of Waitangi policy especially that the Maori version is the authentic text (which was how it was supposed to be).

Also they want it to be a living document – so when are we going to re-negotiate it?

Correct
They have the MPs that get the “Labour Led Government” the majority in Confidence and supply, therefore, just like the two Mr Hairdos, each in a party of his own, they call the shots when they feel like it.

A confidence vote today would be interesting eh!

Schools lag in helping gifted

The first step is identification of the giftedness. A while back giftedness was noted by advanced thinking strategies, complex problem solving and/or virtuoso-like musical skills.

These days giftedness is more aligned to being able to read acceptably. Sadly we have diminishing numbers of gifted children. Unlike China, or India, or …
