“That’s what we do in Palmy”
The Dom Post reports:
A Palmerston North man who punched a woman in the face at the Wellington Cup race meeting later told police: “That’s what we do in Palmy.”
The police prosecutor said Parker had made a derogatory comment about the friend of a woman who was walking in front of him as they were leaving the course.
The woman turned around and asked him to explain. Parker pushed her in the chest, she pushed back and Parker then punched her in the face with a closed fist. The punch was hard enough to knock her backwards and cut the left side of her nose.
When spoken to by police, Parker admitted punching her and said “that’s what we do in Palmy”.
This reminds me of when John Cleese visited Palmy and said afterwards if you ever needed motivation to kill yourself, one should move to Palmy.
