Driving in Delhi
Well I’ve just checked into the hotel in Delhi, and the taxi experience from the airport was everything I had been led to expect.
There were no seatbelts at all in the backseat. Normally not a big issue, but with a driver who darts in and out of traffic (even at 1 am) was a missing security blanket.
I learnt two important road rules:
- Overtaking on the left is encouraged – especially if there isn’t enough room to do it safely
- You can ignore red lights so long as you honk your horn repeatedly as you go through them
Anyway sleep now.
