Congratulations Pansy

Congratulations to Pansy Wong who was selected tonight as National’s candidate for the new seat of Botany.

Pansy won on the first ballot, which is a considerable achievement with four people seeking the candidacy.

Based on the 2005 election results, Botany has a paper majority to National of 3,000 or so. Assuming Pansy wins at the election later this year, she will be the first Asian MP to win an electorate seat.
