Audrey scores the Leaders
Audrey Young reverts to her school teacher past, and assigns grades to Helen Clark and John Key for their recent homework speeches.
Below are her grades, by category, for Clark, and then Key:
- Subject Choice: 7 vs 9
- Substance: 8 vs 8
- Preparation: 6 vs 9
- Content: 7 vs 8
- Delivery: 5 vs 5
- The Big Sell: 4 vs 8
- Overall: 6.1 vs 7.8
So they draw on substance and delivery, but Key gets the nod on subject choice, preparation, content and the big sell.
I’ve yet to see a single media commentator disagree with the consensus, that John Key did significantly better. But of course this may be due to what Poneke labels the gallery hunting as a pack, but in this case the editorials have also all gone Key’s way and they are not normally done by gallery journalists.
