More on Saudi blogger

Poneke covers the latest on the case of the detained Saudi blogger.  Both myself and Poneke were on Radio NZ this morning talking about the case and asking the NZ Government to lobby the Saudi Government on his behalf, as the US Government has done.

Very nice to see EPMU’s Andrew Little  supporting the call for government intervention.

Engineering Printing and Manufacturing Union national secretary Andrew Little says intervention would be appropriate in this case too.

He says detaining people for expressing a set of views or opinions is simply not acceptable in the modern world.

Andrew Little says the Government made a successful intervention in the case of the detention of a Philippines congressman and trade unionist.

Hopefully this will help get MFAT or the Duty Minister onto the case.
