Domestic DPF
NYE had around a dozen of us at Auckland Girl’s place for a party. We had most of the evening there and then went down to Blair Street a bit before midnight. Lots of fun, and good catching up with old friends.
The amusing part for me was during the evening. All the other guys had gone out to buy some pizza, so was just me and the girls. And one of them tripped or stumbled in her heels and pushed a bowl and a glass of red wine off the bench.
The wine glass smashed and the red wine, as it does, created a huge stain on the carpet.
Now I am not the most domestic person, but one thing I do know is cleaning up red wine stains (thanks to Cork King). So as the girls were debating what to do, I got them to pass me some salt and a knife, and kneeling down on the floor carefully spread mounds of salt over the wine to soak it up.
At that stage a couple of the guys turns up, and it is a pretty funny scene with the girls standing about while I’m the one down on my hands and knees laying salt to clean up.
The good news is the salt did its job, with most of the colour gone.
