Death of a blogger

One of the bloggers at Obsidian Wings was Andy Olmsted had been serving in Iraq since  July 2007, training up members of the Iraqi Army.

They have just blogged a post from him, that was to appear only in the event of his death.

He also blogged for Rocky Mountain News which covers his death.

The farewell post from Olmsted is very moving, and the reaction from his friends, family and readers is very raw grief.  It’s a poignant reminder of the tragedy of war, regardless of one’s beliefs in its wisdom or necessity.
