Will the 9th floor cough up?
The latest Colin Espiner blog is interesting.
Earlier Colin blogged a response to an article on the PM’s address to a journalism conference.
One of the PM’s press secretaries, Juli Clausen, posted a comment which roasted Colin for blogging about an event at which he wasn’t present. Incidentially I think it is great that Juli posted a comment – press secretaries should respond if they feel something is inaccurate.
But here is where it now gets interesting. Colin has asked for a copy of the transcript or tape of what the PM actually said.
The Prime Minister, who values her relationship with the gallery and has always gone to some lengths to preserve it – now wants to move on. But I’d like a transcript, or better still, a tape of her address to the journalists. Her office has one, but it won’t release it.
I suggest Colin asks for a copy under the Official Information Act.
