New Clerk of the House

Congratulations to Mary Harris on being appointed Clerk of the House of Representatives.  Not unexpected as she has been Deputy Clerk and Acting Clerk.  But it’s a key role, and hugely important.

Also worth noting is the appointment of a new General Manager of The Parliamentary Service – Geoff Thom.  Thom will be new to Parliament, having worked previously at the Commerce Commission.  He was at one time the manager of the Special Investigations Branch of the Royal New Zealand Military Police, so this may come in useful when trying to track down who actually was responsible for Labour’s pledge card 🙂
