New poll
Fairfax Media (Dom Post, Press etc) have finally started commissioning their own polls
– from Nielsen. This means there are now six lots of public political polls published.
- Colmar Brunton approx every month on TV One
- TNS approx every two months on TV Three
- Digi-Poll approx every month in the NZ Herald
- Roy Morgan every two weeks on their website
- UMR every month, but only released publicly every quarter
- Nielsen, frequency unknown, in Fairfax newspapers
The substance is similar to others – National 14% ahead of Labour, Key 7% ahead of Clark as Preferred PM. They also ask who people think will govern after the next election (an important question as can be self fulfilling) and 62% say National to 26% for Labour.
The poll story also links through to a very lengthy story on Clark by Colin Espiner.
Oh and finally a note to Fairfax – you really should publish the sample szie and the date the poll was conducted over. They are pretty crucial pieces of information. The level of undecideds for the party vote would be useful also.
