AUS-ASTE Merger

There have been some interesting debates on the AUS-Cantebury blog about the proposed merger of the university staff union with the polytechnic staff unions.

There is a considerable level of resistance in some quarters to the merger, with concern that the distinctive nature of universities face getting more watered down, just for the sake of a bigger union. One compelling post against is here.
