Direct Democracy

A poster made this comment in the anarchism thread about direct democracy:

With direct democracy we would have never had the legalisation of homosexuality, the immigration of Asians, the teaching of Maori, Islam would be banned, liquor licences would run till midnight at most, concerts would be held in soundproof rooms – basically imagine if the whole country was run under the auspices of the RMA with input open to everyone.
