Coolum
Had a great drive up to Coolum on Thursday. The rental car had built in GPS which really should be compulsory in all rental cars. It just makes driving in an unfamiliar location a breeze. No gawking at maps, no worry about missing a turn off, no problems if you detour to see some scenery.
Was a pleasure to drive on decent roads – two or three lane roads almost the entire way. And one notices even that extra 10 km/hr with the max being 110. And yes they have even named a highway after him.
The Hyatt Regency in Coolum is a huge resort with several dozen hectares of land, a couple of hundred villas and a golf course. You can see above a typical block of villas.
Most of the Consilium sessions are in the Pavilion. There are over 100 attendees plus partners. I love the way it is set up with one big round table. And they have one of those systems where the camera automatically focuses on your seat if you push the mike button to speak.
And this is where we have lunch – as expected warm weather.
