Sex Survey
The HoS comments on a survey by the Family Planning Association (and Durex) showing young women are now having more sexual partners than young men.
It is unclear whether this was a random scientific poll or a survey where the sample is self selecting.
The survey says 13% of women aged 16 to 25 have had ten or more sexual partners, compared to 7% of men in the same age range. Now at first this seems counter intuitive as men generally (certainly not in all cases) have higher sex drives (curse that testosterone) than women and given half a chance will go for anything with a heartbeat (yes I am exaggerating – calm down).
However the survey results might possibly be right if you consider that a “promiscuous” (and yes I hate that word also) young woman is far more likely to go be able to secure ten or more partners than a male who may have the desire but not the success.
In my experience generally unmarried singles of both genders are having much more casual sex. In fact I would say I know more people who have a FWB/FB arrangement than those who do not. It is decidedly common, but of course when people then fall for their FWB/FB, complications arise.
