NZ Herald pages online

In the last few days the NZ Herald no longer serves up news stories on a single page but if they are over a certain length, divides them over two or more pages.

Anyone from the Herald able to say why the change? I presume it is to keep page size to a maximum, but I have to say it is annoying as I like to be able to read the whole story on one page.
