Less than half of NCEA cheats punished

Amazing. Less than half of those caught cheating in NCEA actually get punished for it.

Now I am not in the category of botting someone out of school or cancelling their entire year’s results if they cheat. But at a minimum they surely should not gain credits in the subject they cheated in, shouldn’t they?

Of the 336 cases of cheating last year, only 135 had their marks affected and the other 201 cases just had a reprimand! No wonder the incidence of cheating increased 60% last year.
