Tony Milne standing for Council

Tony Milne is standing for the Christchurch City Council.

I do find it amusing that Tony says that “people of this city are unhappy with the direction the current Council is taking Christchurch” and that “People are hungry for new direction and fresh leadership”.

Remind me someone of what party and ticket the current Mayor of Christchurch is from?

It would be nice to hope that the Christchurch Council elects a 100% sensible centre-right Council, but this this is too much too hope for. I’d say Tony has a better chance of being elected to Council than Megan Woods has in becoming Mayor, and frankly if you have to have some lefties on Council, then Tony would be preferable to anyone married to Jim Anderton 🙂

So good luck Tony – always good to see people willing to stand for what they believe in.
