Norton 360
Peter Griffin has a very positive review of the new Symantec product, Norton 360.
One feature which really appeals is this one:
An excellent feature is the ability to upload important files to the internet for safe-keeping on Symantec’s servers. You get 2GB (gigabytes) of storage with your subscription and Norton 360 will regularly prompt you to back up a set of files or folders you’ve indicated are very important.
That would be very cool. I backup to a external hard drive but I am still vulnerable to a fire as I am not disciplined enough to take backups to a bank vault etc. The idea of online backup is a good one. I already sort of use Gmail for that, but something which will just do it automatically for all files in folders marked important is a great utility.
Also the online chat to a support tech is something I like. I much prefer that to filling in forms, or phoning people.
The price at $129 annually is a bit on the high side though.
