More schools opting out of NCEA

More and more schools are opting out of NCEA and offering Cambridge exams also.

In an attempt to win the spin award off Helen and Sue, Steve Maharey has claimed:

Education Minister Steve Maharey said last night to move towards adopting the Cambridge exams did not indicate a lack of confidence in NCEA.

It seems parents are pressuring schools to offer alternatives to NCEA or they will go elsewhere. No doubt the Government in time will respond to this by either banning non NCEA assessment, or banning people from moving schools.
