Former CHPer charged with killing mother

Adam Owens was the CHP Campaign Manager for Merepeka Raukawa- Tait in Wairarapa in the 2002 election. He was controversial back then with allegations of blackmail, unpaid debts etc. He also lost a defamation suit. So generally not a nice person.

Sadly he seems to have got worse, with his arrest for murdering his 69 year old mother who was stabbed to death in an attack so frenzied, one of the bed legs buckled.

Incidentally the headline describing him as a “Capill ally” is somewhat misleading as he had a huge fallout with Capill. Not that I am in the habit of defending Capill, but it seems gratuitous dragging his name in. The link was to the CHP as an institution, not to Capill personally.
