Concession on NCEA
It can take months or even years, but finally as school after school lined up to offer an alternative Steve Maharey has conceded that NCEA did not motivate students to strive.
One change mooted is to allocate more credited to more difficult subjects, so level one physics is worth more than level one picking up rubbish!
And at long last the concept of failure is no longer being hidden with Maharey saying he now favours a return to indicating when a student had failed a paper on the student’s record.
It’s nice how after years of complaints, the Government will finally concede changes may be needed.
