Bush/Clark meeting goes as expected
The NZ Herald has a report from NZPA on the Bush/Clark meeting. Sounds like it went as expected – a polite exchange of views but no progress on any particular issue. However it is useful to have no less than the US President fully aware how important a role NZ has in stopping the Pacific turn into a collection of failed states, especially with China making moves in the region.
A pity they did not allow press questions, but it seems this was due to Bush not wanting questions on the sacked US attorneys.
