Aust Labor and broadband

The Australian Labor Party is pledging to spend NZ$5.4 billion on a broadband rollout which would see 98% of Australians have 12 Mb/sec or better.

And to fund this plan, Labor have reversed their opposition to privatising the remaining portion of Telstra.

I’d be very keen to sell a couple of SOEs here and use the proceeds to invest in a fibe roll-out.
