A quality broadban plan

The new Telco Act requires Telecom to offer a wholesale broadband product capable of supporting “real time” applications. In response they are developing a new product which will have performance guarantees and a higher guaranteed sustained information rate (SIR) of between 60 and 100 kilobits per second (standard now is 24).

This looks to be a good step forward giving ultimately the consumers the choice between packages with and without minimum performance levels. The price of course will be a key issue.
