The Telecom Cabal

Chris Barton writes a pretty hard column on Telecom and what he labels the cabal of Rod Deane, Theresa Gattung, Bruce Parkes and John Goulter.

I think it is regrettable Barton personalises it. While I have have been as frustrated as anyone with Telecom at times, Telecom management have an obligation to manage the company as they genuinely see best for the company.

I don’t blame Telecom for gaming the regulatory system as much as I blame Governments for not taking action earlier. You can’t expect players in a market to be “nice”. Certainly you can expect them to act in good faith and be honest, but that is as far as it goes.
