Miss Alice suspended

Miss Alice, aka Rob Moodie, has been fined $5,000 and suspended from practising law for three months for contempt of court. The Justices say he was on the verge of being disbarred but they accepted his sincere motivations.

As most people know Moodie published an army report on the Internet after being denied permission to do so. He had a lot of public support for his actions, but what many may not have realised is that he had opportunities to appeal that decision to the Court of Appeal and maybe even the Supreme Court. He broke the rules of evidence, rather than appeal the decision. I’d be more favourably inclined towards him if he had exhausted all his legal options.

Moodie claims he will give up the law and write a book instead.
