McGehan Close

The NZ Herald talks to some of the residents of McGehan Close, after John Key used it as an example of the “under class”. Somethings which the article does little to dispel with the reference to so many of the kids wearning gang colours.

But what amused me was one resident claiming he had lived in worse streets than this, the exact quote being:

“That’s all shit – there’s worse underclass streets than this. There’s definitely worse places than this – I lived in Palmy [Palmerston North],” says 27-year-old machine operator Jason Thompson.

I love the attitude. We may live in the worse street in Auckland but at least we don’t live in Palmerston North 🙂
