Philippines to set up killlings commission
Around 800 activists and journalists in the Philippines have been killed in the past five years. Helen Clark raised the issue with the Philippines President and accepted the assurance that these are all coincidences and nothing to do with the Government. Even better the Government will set up a commission to investigate who is doing the killings.
Perhaps Helen could help the Philippines Government by telling them how she sets up official inquiries such as into Taito Phillip Field. Just make sure they have no actual powers and a very limited terms of reference, and you’re guaranteed to get the right result.
