Verry annoyed
Richard Prebble’s newsletter said on Monday that the latest suspect in the stolen e-mails case was not someone political but a Bay of Plenty businessman. The rationale was that the businessman has been a vocal critic of the Reserve Bank over many years or decades, and that his son owns and manages an IT company so hence is technically proficient.
Not really proof beyond reasonable doubt!
Anyway the businessman concerned, Phil Verry, is threatening defamation. Prebble did not name him, but he claims the details provided made it obvious it was him.
I’m glad no-one is taking seriously the ludicrous claims that six senior National Party people were feeding these to Hager.
