Drugged Driving

I attended the launch of the road safety strategy yesterday and there was some pleasing stuff in it, including testing drivers to see if they are impaired by drugs, just as we currently do for alcohol. Coroners for some time have been saying that they believe driving while stoned etc is responsible for some crashes.

The testing will not be random, but only when impairment is suspected.

They are also dropping the tolerance speed around schools to 54 km/hr. Again all sensible, as schools are one area you should be driving slowly past.
