TV 3 Poll
The TV3 poll tonight is likely to have ramifications for National. Not for the party vote result which has National 40% and Labour 42%. This is not unexpected as every single TV3 poll since the election has shown Labour ahead of National (likewise every single TVNZ poll has shown National ahead of Labour). I will comment on this more in Curia’s monthly polling newsletter out early next week.
But the finding that more National voters picked John Key as best suited to lead National into the next election, than Don Brash, will inevitably have MPs starting to consider their options. The poll had 42% of National voters picking Key, 38% Brash, 11% English and 3% Brownlee.
I would however treat the results with some caution until the full results are made available. The sample size was probably fairly small – less than 400 respondents I guess.
