Globalisation

Bryan Gould, who was on the left of the left of the UK Labour Party, has started a one-man crusade against globalisation. He’s around 20 years too late incidentially.

Anyway he bemoans as a bad thing how Trade Me, 42 Below and Ihug were snapped up by overseas investors. Yes this is somehow a bad thing.

Never mind that Ihug now has huge capital behind it thanks to Vodafone purchasing it, and could help deliver huge benefits in being able to roll our its own equipment and comptere with the other telcos.

And hey why should Sam Morgan get so much money? Bryan Gould sees it as bad that Sam sold to the highest bidder. Yeah, just because Sam invented Trade Me and made it such a success, he should have been forced to sell it for less than half of what Fairfax would pay.
