Super Fund
I feared when Dr Cullen set up the Super Fund, that politicians would try and interfere with investment decisions. One can just imagine the Greens wanting to invest it in a chain of hemp stories, NZ First in export industries, Maori Party on their pet causes. Of course the effect would be a lower rate of return and the 80 year olds get their pension cut as we’ve run out of money.
Not true to form the Greens are demanding the Fund stop investing in ExxonMobil, because shock horrot they don’t agree with the Greens on climate change and fund groups which are sceptical.
Considering the huge variety of things the Greens want to ban (fast food, large easter eegs etc), I can’t see the fund making much money if they get their way.
